These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern all services provided by Essential Water Blasting Ltd (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) to any individual or entity (“Client”, “you”, “your”, “homeowner”) engaging us for pressure washing, exterior cleaning, and related services. By booking or paying for our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms below.

This Agreement complies with relevant New Zealand laws, including:

  • Consumer Guarantees Act 1993
  • Fair Trading Act 1986
  • Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017
  • Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
  • Privacy Act 2020

1. Services Provided

We offer professional exterior cleaning and water blasting services including:

  • House washing (soft and pressure)
  • Gutter cleaning and flushing
  • Roof treatment (moss, mould, chemical treatment)
  • Roof cleaning
  • Solar panel cleaning
  • Pressure washing (driveways, patios, decks, fences, walkways)

All services are conducted using appropriate methods, equipment, and environmentally responsible cleaning products. Quotes are based on the information you provide and confirmed on-site if required.


2. Service Limitations and Risk Acknowledgement

a. Water Intrusion

Despite precautions, water may enter through vents, windows, or gaps. We are not responsible for any resulting interior damage unless due to negligence.

b. Pre-existing Conditions

We are not liable for damages made worse by or caused by existing defects, such as:

  • Loose or rotting materials
  • Failing window seals
  • Cracked or aged surfaces
  • Peeling or oxidised paint
  • Faulty or exposed wiring, outdoor lights, alarms, power points etc

c. Surface and Material Risk

We are not responsible for:

  • Paint removal from weathered surfaces
  • Concrete or paver etching
  • Warping or degradation of soft materials
  • Discolouration of previously treated surfaces
  • Damage to electrical fittings such as outdoor lights, alarms, power points

3. Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide safe and clear access to all work areas
  • Ensure windows and doors are fully sealed
  • Notify us of any leaks, fragile areas, or hazards
  • Ensure house alarms, outdoor lights and power points are weatherproof and in safe working condition
  • Provide access to a working outdoor tap
  • Keep pets and children indoors during service
  • Notify neighbours if needed

4. Chemicals and Environmental Protection

We use biodegradable and eco-conscious products when possible. However, for certain issues (e.g. roof mould, moss), stronger treatments may be used.

We are not responsible for:

  • Damage to landscaping due to chemical runoff
  • Discolouration caused by necessary cleaning solutions

We comply with environmental requirements under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.


5. Scheduling, Weather & Cancellations

a. Weather Conditions

Services may be rescheduled due to unsafe weather (e.g. rain, high winds). We will inform you as early as possible.

b. Cancellation Policy

If you cancel within 72 hours of your scheduled service, a $150 cancellation fee applies. Please notify us in writing by email or SMS to avoid this fee.


6. Payments, Invoices & Late Fees

a. Payment Terms

Invoices must be paid within 5 calendar days of job completion. Accepted methods:

  • Bank transfer
  • Debit card
  • Cash (prearranged only)

b. Late Payment Fees

  • 20% late fee applies after 5 days overdue
  • Additional costs of recovery (admin, legal, debt collection) will be added
  • Service may be suspended until payment is received

c. Chargebacks

Unwarranted chargebacks may result in service refusal or legal recovery. Any adjustments will be communicated in writing.


7. Online Payments & Quotation Accuracy

a. Quoting Responsibility

When booking online or requesting a quote, you confirm that the surface area provided (e.g. in square metres) is accurate.

  • All pricing is based on square metre rates unless stated otherwise
  • Providing incorrect measurements may result in additional charges or cancellation
  • We reserve the right to amend quotes after an onsite inspection

b. Final Price Assessment

If the actual size of the area is significantly different from what was quoted, we reserve the right to:

  • Adjust the quoted price
  • Amend the invoice before or after service
  • Decline or postpone service until confirmed

c. Online Payment Terms

Payments made online are securely processed in NZD. By submitting your details, you:

  • Confirm the information is correct
  • Authorise us or our payment provider to charge the stated amount
  • Agree that adjusted invoices may follow if inaccurate data was provided

Refunds from online payments will be processed within 5–10 business days, if applicable.


8. Refunds, Guarantees & Disputes

a. Legal Rights

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, you are entitled to:

  • Services performed with reasonable care and skill
  • Accurate representation under the Fair Trading Act 1986

b. Refund Eligibility

Refunds will be considered for:

  • Duplicate or overpayments
  • Cancelled services (within terms)
  • Major faults reported within 10 working days

We do not refund for:

  • Change of mind
  • Fully performed services
  • Minor imperfections or cosmetic issues

c. Satisfaction Guarantee

If you are not satisfied, notify us within 24 hours. We will investigate and attempt to resolve it promptly.


9. Health & Safety

We comply with obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. We may pause or refuse service if the site is unsafe.

The Client must disclose known risks (e.g. asbestos, electrical hazards, or structural weaknesses) before work begins.


10. Insurance & Liability Limitations

  • We carry public liability insurance
  • Our liability is limited to the value of the paid service
  • No responsibility is accepted for indirect or consequential losses
  • Claims for property damage under $500 are not accepted

Clients are advised to ensure their home insurance covers exterior cleaning.


11. Privacy

All personal information is collected and used in compliance with the Privacy Act 2020. We only share data with third parties as needed for booking, communication, or payment processing.


12. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any dispute will be handled in Auckland or via the New Zealand Disputes Tribunal if applicable.


13. Acceptance of Terms

By requesting or accepting a quote, making payment, or using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and acknowledge your responsibilities and rights under New Zealand law.
